FAQ

  • Can I use any authenticator?

Yes! RETRO//VRS is authenticator-agnostic. We accept certificates from any third-party listed on our site. Just make sure it includes the required details (brand, item type, serial number if available, and authenticator name/logo).

  • What if I already have a COA?

Perfect — you're one step ahead. Just upload your existing certificate during the listing process. Once verified, we'll mint your DPvP (Digital Provenance Passport) to secure it on-chain.

  • What happens after I upload my COA?

We'll review your certificate within 24–48 hours. If it checks out, we'll mint a blockchain record of authenticity (your DPvP) and unlock the option to list your item for sale.

  • Can I authenticate first, then sell later?

Absolutely. Once your DPvP is minted, you can hold the item in your Vault until you're ready to sell — now or later. You'll always retain proof of authenticity.

  • Can I re-authenticate an item I previously sold?

No need. Once a DPvP is minted, it stays with the item — even if it changes hands. There's no need to re-authenticate unless ownership or authenticity is disputed.

  • What is a DPvP?

A DPvP (Digital Provenance Passport) is your blockchain-verified proof of authenticity and ownership. It lives with your item for life, ensuring transparency, traceability, and resale royalties — even as the item changes owners.

  • Will my personal info be made public?

No. Any document you upload — like a Certificate of Authenticity or purchase receipt — is reviewed and cleaned before being minted to the blockchain. We redact all names, emails, credit card info, and anything else private.
